The laundry is often the smallest room in the apartment, but a dryer can produce more humidity than a bathroom does!
Laundry ventilation is essential and a building requirement where there is no exterior window in the room (such as when the laundry located in the kitchen or bathroom).
The Building Code of Australia (BCA) enforces Australian Standard AS 1668.2-2012, which states a minimum extraction capacity of 40 litres per second for residential laundries where a non-condensing dryer is installed. If a condensing dryer is installed the requirement is 20 litres per second.
